Message from Mike & Evan

Hello Everyone,

It’s 2011, and we’re very happy to say that we are bringing back, the Edmonton Canada Cup, for the third year in a row. It started out a few years ago as just a good idea over a few beers, and now here we are with the third annual Kokanee Edmonton Canada Cup, coming July 23^rd, 2011!

This race is the only stop on the Canada Cup circuit where the course is right in the heart of a major city – thus earning the nickname of ‘Canada’s Urban Mountain Bike Race’.

We’re very excited about this year’s event, as we have some great support from the City of Edmonton and sponsors both returning, and some new partners emerging to help us create an excellent mountain bike experience for all ages.  Kokanee is back this year as a sponsor, but bigger and better.  For 2011, Kokanee is our title sponsor and this year’s Kokanee Edmonton Canada Cup is going to rock your race-socks off!

REMAX is also pitching in this year to help with the REMAX Bike Expo, ensuring that there is something for everyone; even if you are not a racer.  But these are only two of the key sponsors helping to make this race happen so check out our Sponsor Thank -You Page.

We’re also pretty excited about the killer draw prizes and give aways coming down the pipe too, giving you an extra reason to get your entry into us early this year as we have some killer swag to give away, even before the race begins!

• SS Championship: Are gears too complicated?  Do you really like to suffer?  Well maybe the 2011 Canadian Single Speed Championship will appease your appetite!  That’s right – we are hosting the 2011 CSSC!
• Relay Category: Never raced before? Not sure if solo racing is for you?  We’ll we can help.  New this year, is our Relay Category.  Get your riding buddies together, and take part in this awesome mountain bike event.
• Public Bike Expo and Beer Gardens: Not a racer, but just like bikes? Come on down to watch the race, meet the racers, and check out the REMAX Bike Expo. We’ve got all kinds on new bikes and gear for you to check out, plus great food, plus our live in the public Kokanee beer gardens. And all of this set in the heart of the Edmonton River Valley!
